First Annual Toy Drive

Several members braved the cold weather and stood outside the Town Hall from noon until 8pm in rain, snow, and very cold conditions for the sake of local children. They collected $462.00 in cash and over 100 toys. The cash will be used to purchase more toys for local children whose families have come upon hard times. Good job guys...

TT and Bus Extrication class in Voluntown

Some members of the Jewett City Fire Dept recently took a Tractor Trailer and Bus extrication class. The class was hosted by the Voluntown Fire Dept. and held by the CT Fire Academy. Numerous Dept's attended and learned about TT accidents and bus accidents, which have become all too familiar in our area in the past few years. They gained the knowledge to stabilize the large equipment and extricate patients involved in these accidents.

FOOD DRIVE

We would like to thank everyone that donated food to our annual food drive. It was once again a great success. Thank you to all the members that participated.

MUTUAL AID TO PLAINFIELD

The Jewett City Fire Dept was called mutual aid to Sixth St in Plainfield this afternoon. ET 156 and L156 with manpower requested. Assisted with placing ladders and provided power inside from L156. Along with Plainfield FD, the Moosup, Central Village, and Atwood Hose Co.'s also responded. Canterbury provided a cover assignment at station 95. Also on scene were Moosup Amb and Plainfield Police.
